All our instructors have experience in Gi and No-gi Jiu Jitsu
Thijmen Gomperts
Head Instructor
Thijmen is a black belt under Marcos Flexa and active competitor in both Gi and No-Gi tournaments.
Thijmen is known for his funky style; his floating passes are nigh unstoppable and he can find
the submission in every corner.
Thijmen’s heart beats for the Gi but he is equally dangerous in in No-Gi. Many grapplers regard Thijmen as one of the
best competitors in the country, which is hard to argue against considering the impressive collection
of medals gathered over the course of time.

Mathijs Gomperts
Assistant instructor
Mathijs, Thijmen's older brother is a brown belt under Ernst van Bruggen. Like Leroy he has
trained for a long time under Aram, who awarded him his purple belt.
Mathijs adopted
Aram's relentless pace and killer-instinct; he will control you and actively look for any
submission he can find. Mathijs keeps the team sharp, ensuring everyone has fun while
maintaining a healthy competitive attitude with focus on competition.

Ernst van Bruggen
BJJ Gi instructor
Ernst is a black belt under Roberto Atala. Ernst is known for his stand-up proficiency,
massive top pressure and lethal collar-sleeve guard. During his two-year internship in New York,
Ernst also trained at Marcelo Garcia's academy where he actively competed, winning by submission
against the Brazilian national champion: Altamir Cezar

Leroy la Rose
No-gi instructor
Leroy is a black belt under Aram. Leroy is an active competitor with many No-Gi
medals on his wall. His extensive MMA experience makes him an exhausting roll, not ever willing
to relinquish top position.
Leroy's control is beyond comparison. Besides being a ruthless
competitor, Leroy is a patient teacher, always willing to go the extra mile to help his
students understand techniques.
Roberto Godoi > Marco Barbosa > Augusto Ferrari > Aram > Leroy la Rose
Aram
No-gi instructor
Aram is a black belt under Augusto Ferrari and sensei to Thijmen, Mathijs, Leroy and Danny. While Aram specialises in no-gi grappling and leg entanglements, he is no push-over in the gi.
Aram has extensive competition experience and is considered to be one of the best competitors The Netherlands has ever seen. He is a five-time national champion, has many national and international
titles to his name and has fought several MMA matches which, as you can expect, he all won by submission.
Aram fights intelligently; he breaks his opponents mentally with his relentless pace and massive pressure. If he gets a whim of exhaustion, he goes for the kill and does this with
frightening accuracy. Most of Aram's competition wins are by submission and not long after bumping fists.

Danny Crapanzano
fundamentals instructor
Danny is a brown belt under Thijmen Gomperts and he is the glue that holds DODO together. It's all about Danny.
During the day he is a high school teacher, at night he is a total Jiu Jitsu geek/casual assassin.
Danny is a
great no gi fighter and is also becoming more versed in the Gi. His pedagogical skills are inspiring and his
enthusiasm is contagious, making him the perfect coach to help students on their way in the journey that is Jiu Jitsu.

Derek Lingmont
fundamentals instructor
Derek exemplifies that perfect mix of slight autism and sheer brilliance.
He is known for his impressive (some say outrageous) habit of keeping at least 20 YouTube technique video tabs open at all times for the past 8 years.
This resulted in his diverse game that ensures that you`ll never run out of new tricks to learn, whether you`re a gi aficionado or a no-gi rebel.
Derek`s technical classes are a deep dive into all that jiu jitsu has to offer; from old-school flowersweeps to modern-day Tarikoplatas and choi-bars. Be ready to be slightly overwhelmed!

Timpe Tuyt
fundamentals instructor
Timpe is a brown belt under Thijmen Gomperts. He has a diverse martial arts background, including Muay Thai, wrestling, and grappling, which gives him a well-rounded perspective on the mat.
Rolling with him, however, can feel as if he`s been doing nothing else his entire life. He is renowned for his razor-sharp, submission-focused game, and some say that once he locks in
a submission, his Neanderthal-like strength takes over.
Timpe approaches techniques with the mindset of a philosopher—he`ll challenge your technique and help you refine and solidify your game plan. If you survive his class, congratulations,
you`ve earned yourself a nap!
